WHAT IS
HYGETROPIN / KEFEI
Hygetropin
and Kefei are Human Growth Hormones (HGH) Somatropin produced with
recombinant DNA technology identical to the body naturally produced
HGH. These are synthetic 191 amino acid sequence identical to the human
growth hormone produced naturally in the body by the pituitary.
NB:
All Kefei Hgh is produced
same month as its shipped out so products is very fresh and this
usually means more potent!
Expiration date for Kefei is 2
years from manufacture.
COMPOSITION
Hygetropin and Kefei a sterile, white, lyophilized powder intended for
subcutaneous administration after reconstitution with Bacteriostatic
Water for Injection.
INDICATIONS
Some of the conditions for which Hygetropin is being used for :

GHD
- Growth Hormone Deficiency - In children treatment of growth
failure due to the lack of adequate endogenous GH secretion.

GHD/AGHD
- Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency, in adults with endogenous GH
deficiency due to a medical condition or aging.

Anti-Aging
- To improve metabolism, fat-free mass, mood, skin, sleep and
general well being.
-
Growth
failure associated with chronic renal insufficiency up to the
time of renal transplantation.
-
Short
stature associated with Turner syndrome.
-
Patients
with severe catabolic states such as surgery, trauma, burns or
organ failure, to promote the protein synthesis.
-
Treatment
of congestive heart failure and osteoporosis.
-
To
decrease body fat & cellulite.
-
To
improve skin texture and appearance (decreased wrinkles).
-
To
gain lean muscle mass.
-
Other
conditions as determined by a physician.
DOSAGE
Dosage is individual and should be determined only by a licensed
physician based on condition, purpose and body weight.
Your doctor should determine the daily dosage appropriate for your
condition, it could be as little as 1-2iu per day such as those
usually prescribed for anti-aging purposes or as much as 8-16iu a
day usually prescribed in more acute cases. Depanding on the dosage
you take, your doctor may decide if you should split the dosage to
more than one injection per day or otherwise inject only once a day.
General dosages:
-
Growth
disturbance due to insufficient secretion of growth hormone in
children: Generally a dose of 0.07-0.1 IU/kg body weight per day
is recommended. Even higher doses have been used.

Gonadal
dysgenesis (Turner's syndrome): Generally a dose of 0.14 IU/kg
body weight per day is recommended.
-
Chronic
renal insufficiency: Generally a dose of 0.14 IU/kg body weight
per day is recommended.

Growth
hormone deficiency in adults: Generally an initial dose for
about four weeks of 0.0178 IU/kg body weight per day is
recommended. The daily dose should then be modulated according
to the side effects of the patients as well as determination of
Insulin like Growth Factor-l (IGF-I) in serum as guidance.

For
severe burns or multiple injuries: Generally an initial dose of
8IU/day followed by 16IU/day after patients' blood glucose level
is stabilized is recommended. Typical treatment starts in 6 days
after burns or injuries and treatment length is about 15-20
days.

For
major operations: Generally a dose of 12IU/day for a period of
10 days is recommended. Typical treatment starts in 2-3 days
after operations.
Exact
dosage can only be determined by your doctor. Periodical checkups by
your doctor will determine if the dosage should be decreased or
increased. If treatment has been forgotten one day do not take
double doses the next day but continue the treatment according to
the directions.
OVERDOSE
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center
or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include
headache, nausea, vomiting and bloating or swelling of ankles, feet,
or hands.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hygetropin or Kefei must not be used when there is any evidence of activity
of brain tumor. Intracranial lesions must be inactive and antitumour
therapy completed prior to starting therapy. Hygetropin or Kefei should not
be used for growth promotion in children with closed epiphyses.
CAUTIONS KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY
APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. IF YOU HAVE DIABETES
AND USE INSULIN, this medicine may affect your blood sugar and
insulin requirements. Check blood glucose levels closely and ask
your doctor before adjusting the dose of your insulin.
STORAGE
Before Reconstitution: Hygetropin or Kefei must be kept refrigerated and
stored at 2 - 8C. Avoid freezing the vials of Hygetropin or Kefei, this will
damage the GH. After Reconstitution: Vial contents are stable for 72
hours when reconstituted with Bacteriostatic Water for Injection and
stored at 2 - 8C. Avoid freezing the reconstituted vial of
Hygetropin or Kefei, doing so will damage the GH. Pre-reconstituted
Hygetropin or Kefei will maintain potency if stored in room temperature 25c
for up to one month, however keep refrigerated whenever possible.
Expiration dates are stated on the labels. Always keep away from
direct light.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE & HANDLING
Releasing the vacuum inside vial
Hygetropin
or Kefei vials are air-vacuumed to preserve the powder. Before
using an Hygetropin or Kefei hGH vial you should let all air out of the vial,
this should be done only once for every new vial to be used. It can
be done by inserting a bare needle or one attached to a syringe into
the vial to let all air get sucked out of the vial.
Reconstitution
Hygetropin
or Kefei should be used with sterile bacteriostatic water for
injection. The water acts as a solvent to dissolve the powder inside
the vial and turn it into an injectable solution. Use a new sterile
syringe (pin width should be 19G-27G) to pull solvent into syringe
(1ml of water or less) Inject the water very slowly in a controlled
manner to the side of the vial and let the water slide down the
bottom of the vial. Do not push the water directly onto the GH
powder! Doing so will damage it. Gently dissolve the drug with a
slow, swirling motion. Do not shake vigorously, or the active
ingredient might denature. Inspect to see if there is still powder
at the bottom of the vial, you may need to let the vial in room
temperature for a few minutes in order for powder to dissolve
completely.
Injection
Using an insulin syringe gently withdraw from the vial the desired
dose to be injected and release any unwanted air from the syringe.
Hygetropin or Kefei should be injected subcutaneously by preferred areas are
stomach or upper thighs. Wash hands and rub skin with alcohol pad,
with one hand pinch 2" inch fold of skin between your thumb and
index finger. Hold insulin the syringe with the other hand. Insert
the needle at about 90 degrees angle to the pinched skin. Gently
pull back the plunger to check for blood. If blood enters the
solution do not inject, withdraw the needle and start again at a new
injection site. Push the plunger gently to inject, when plunger is
all the way down, remove the syringe gently and lightly hold an
alcohol pad on the injection site. Do not rub the area. Dispose of
syringe, needles and alchohol pads and always use new ones for each
injection. The injection site should be varied to prevent
lipoathrophy.
